Many interesting facts are revealed about those who are buried. Talented volunteers in period costumes bring the personalities of those former residents to life through the re-creation of the characters. The Liverpool Common Burying Ground is one of the only cemeteries in Nova Scotia which contains grave markers representing many of the variety of headstones found across Nova Scotia. The earliest marker is dated 1761. The graveyard tour will not only provide information about people in an entertaining fashion, but will also provide information about some of the artistic and cultural characteristics of grave markers. Liverpool’s oldest cemetery, the Old Burial Ground, comes alive with historic vignettes depicting the lives (and deaths) of some of Liverpool’s most important and interesting residents.
