Frequently Asked Question's:

1. Can anyone attend Privateer Days ?

Yes. Anyone can come and enjoy Privateer Days! Events are planned to appeal to a general audience and are family-focused.

2. How much does it cost?

There are many events offered at no cost.  These include the parade, the Fireworks, entrance onto the grounds, the battle re-enactment and historical encampment, and watching the various races.  Some of the entertainment venues and guided tours are available for a nominal fee, but affordable day passes are also available.  Events are generally held at Privateer Park, on Henry Hensey Drive, with some private venues hosting entertainers and musicians for a small cover charge. A list of fees is included in the program descriptions Event Schedule and Pricing

3. How many people come to Privateer Days?
Every year this varies, but we generally have 10,000 – 15,000 visitors.

4. How are volunteers involved?
A core group of ten volunteers oversees and organizes the major program areas, planning throughout the year.  This is the Board of the Privateer Days Commission. Major program events are typically planned by sub-committees, who report back to the Privateer Days Commission.  For the four days of events, dozens of volunteers are recruited to run the various programs or activities. Many programs, such as the parade and live encampment, require 12 – 30 volunteers to operate.  Volunteers also work year-round to raise funds for the event. If you’d like to volunteer to help at Privateer Days, contact us at: (902) 354-4500 or by email: info@privateerdays.com
